This blog is my way of helping those “intolerant” people out there who, like me, find that their bodies don’t particularly like the same foods their taste buds do. Just because you can’t eat cane sugar, dairy or gluten, shouldn’t mean you have to miss out!

Recently, after a long process of elimination diets and allergy tests, I found that the reason for all of my stomach..er…discomfort, was an intolerance to cane sugar (Cane sugar!? Yes, cane sugar.) and dairy. The gluten intolerance is still under investigation, which means that, for now, I can’t have gluten either.

Its only been a short while since I have been sugar free, but it has been quite an adventure (adventure is the optimistic way to put it). For those who are dealing with a sugar intolerance, it can be quite the challenge! Almost anything prepackaged or pre-made is bound to contain processed sugar. Because I’ve had a nice collection of successes in converting recipes to suit my needs and I’m sure some others have had similar triumphs, this is the space to give and receive.

Just as a side note to anyone who is reading and trying recipes that I post, my sugar intolerance includes corn syrup and although dairy free in the majority, I can eat a small amount of goat cheese every once in a while without problems.
